James Smith is a service-disabled veteran and former police officer and crime scene technician with over 20 years of law enforcement experience. Throughout his career, he witnessed firsthand the devastating aftermath of traumatic events — and the critical lack of professional, compassionate cleanup services in the North Country region.
In October 2023, he took action. James became certified in crime scene cleanup, death and suicide cleaning, bioremediation, drug lab cleaning, and forensic cleaning. He founded Post Trauma Scene Decon to fill the gap he'd seen for decades.
His approach combines technical precision with genuine empathy. Having worked with grieving families throughout his law enforcement career, James understands that cleanup is about more than removing hazards — it's about restoring a sense of safety and peace during the hardest moments of people's lives.
